privatte servers?
i have a question
how in the hell can playing a game for free on a server someone host for you be illagal i mean god dam you paid for the game software if you wanted to i'm sure you could have pirited that too are companys really that dam greedy that they wont let you play a game you paid for free |

i've been reading up on this and they span from eq1 too wow and yet they say it's illegel to play a game you paid for without paying again i find that to be greedy as RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO and wonder how it could be your not selling anything you didn't steal anything you paid for it

In a legal sense, I believe it is because the SERVER programs/software are not licensed for private use. When you purchase an MMO (ex. WoW) you are purchasing the client side of the software. You are not buying the right to use the server software, or operate a server. You are expected to use the client you purchased with the server they provide. Anything else is a violation of the licensing and copyright.

yeah reason i refuse to play games i have to pay for awhile back i got everquest i cancled it and than a year later we get another bill and had to sue SOE for the money i trust no company greedy enough to charge you to play something you already gave them 30-50 bucks for
